The Tobacco Bass will not bother corals or clams, but may pose a threat to small invertebrates and smaller reef fish, such as gobies. Tobacco Bass are best kept singly unless the aquarium is of 150 gallons or more and all individuals are added at the same time. Make sure to provide several caves and hiding places for it.

Feed frozen preparations of chopped meaty foods, and/ or mysis shrimp.
