Notes: The Pearlscale Butterfly usually adapts well to aquarium life and thrives in the home aquarium. Groups may be kept in a peaceful community tank if they are added at the same time. It may harass other butterflyfish of similar shape and coloration such as Mertens Butterflyfish, but gets along well with most other butterflies. Make sure to provide plenty of swimming room and several hiding places where it can retreat.
The Pearlscale Butterflyfish can be kept with more noxious soft and stony corals, but may pick at fleshy corals such as Brain Coral, Meat Coral, and Elegance Coral.
Feed a variety of carnivore preparations including mysid shrimp, brine shrimp, krill, and marine fish.
