Notes: A beautiful addition to any peaceful reef aquarium the Scissortail Dartfish is quite docile and should not bother its tank-mates except for other Scissortails. It is best kept either singly, or as a pair. Make sure to provide several hiding places for it to retreat. Keep a lid on your aquarium because this fish is likely to try to jump out.
Although the Scissortail Dartfish will feed off of algae and zooplankton growing in the aquarium, you should supplement its diet with frozen carnivore preparations containing finely chopped marine flesh, vitamin-enriched brine shrimp, or mysid shrimp.
