Notes: Although the Purple Pseudochromis is one of the more passive members of its genus it will still defend its shelter from intruders. This pseudochromis can be kept as a pair, or small group, in an aquarium of 125 gallons or more. All specimens should be introduced at the same time. Pseudochromis do best in a reef aquarium with plenty of live rock to provide hiding places and create separate territories.
The Purple Pseudochromis will not bother coral, clams, or sessile invertebrates, but may eat very small ornamental shrimp.
Offer it a mixed diet of carnivore preparations, mysid shrimp, brine shrimp, and vitamin-enriched foods to help it keep its brilliant color.
