Notes: These colorful leathers take on bizarre shapes with numerous finger-like lobes protruding from the base of the coral. They are quite hardy corals when provided with the proper lighting, diet, and water flow.
Place the Devil's Hand Leather Coral on an exposed rock in the top half of the aquarium. Make sure that moderate currents will be able to supply it with necessary nutrients and trace elements. Leave several inches around it so that other corals will not be able to sting it.
Although symbiotic algae called zooxanthellae hosted within it supply most of its nutritional requirements through photosynthesis it does require supplemental feedings. Supplementing its diet with the addition of iodine, trace elements, marine snow, phytoplankton, and food for filter feeders will help to insure its continued good health.
