Notes: What it lacks in beauty it makes up for in cleaning power. The Tiger Tail Cucumber is a great “housekeeper” for the reef aquarium. It “eats” sand and removes detritus (waste) from it as it passes the sand through its body. The clean sand is released out of its body. One Tiger Tail Cucumber is sufficient for a 60 gallon aquarium.
Do not keep with aggressive fishes that are not safe with invertebrates. It does have the ability to release mild toxins, when injured, that could be harmful to fish.
The Tiger Tail Cucumber can reproduce by fission (one individual splits into two), any can live for several years in the home aquarium.
