Notes: This handsome shrimp feeds almost exclusively on starfish. It requires only one starfish per month to maintain proper health. When kept in aquariums with infestations of small starfish additional feeding is usually not required. Providing additions of iodine will ensure proper molting and growth.

Some predatory fish such as Hawkfish, Lionfish, Triggers, Puffers, and large Wrasses may eat the Harlequin Shrimp.
