Notes: Although Pipe Organ Coral does have a skeleton it is actually classified as a soft coral. It is often confused with Star Polyps. Unlike Star Polyps it will not encrust the rocks and crowd out other coral species. It is a good coral to use to fill in gaps between other peaceful corals as it will not sting.
Place the Pipe Organ Coral along the bottom half of the aquarium on an exposed rock. Make sure that currents will be able to supply them with necessary nutrients and trace elements.
Although symbiotic algae called zooxanthellae hosted within them supply most of their nutritional requirements through photosynthesis they do require supplemental feedings. Supplementing their diet with the addition of trace elements, marine snow, phytoplankton, and food for filter feeders will help to insure their continued good health.
