Notes: Duncanopsammia are very rare corals that are only found off the coast of Australia and in limited areas of the South China Sea. They require low to moderate water currents and low to moderate reef lighting for proper health. Duncanopsammia Corals can adapt to brighter lighting over time. We keep one of our mother colonies under 400 watt metal halides about 10" from the surface. It is important that adequate calcium and alkalinity levels are maintained to ensure proper skeletal growth. Use of Kalkwasser Mix or a calcium reactor will be of great benefit.
Make sure that low to moderate currents will be able to supply it with necessary nutrients and trace elements.
Feed this coral by using a coral feeder, or turkey baster, to squirt mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, or other small bits of meaty foods near the polyps. Additions of Marine Snow, phytoplankton, and trace elements will help to insure its continued good health and growth.
