Notes: Australian Lord Acans are available in a wide array of colors and patterns. They grow well in home aquariums and are a great choice for Nano Reef Aquariums. Each polyp we ship is approximately 1 cm across.
Aussie Acans do best under moderate lighting provided by high output flourescents such as T5's or power compacts. They can be kept under metal halides, but should be kept lower in the aquarium. Position them where they will receive moderate water flow. Acans will not sting each other and can be kept close to most types of zoanthids. Their tentacles do not extend over 1" so they are not usually a threat to other corals in the aquarium. They are subseptible to the sting of other corals so be careful when placing them near corals with sweeper tentacles, such as Hammer Coral, Torch Coral, or Echinophyllia.
We feed our Acans a combination of cyclops and mysis shrimp. Spot feeding your acans will help them multiply faster. The polyp size can increase to as much as 2.5 cm when fully open after several months of feeding.
Maintaining proper calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium levels will help your Lord Acan grow and open fully.
