Notes: This is hands down the brightest purple montipora capricornus we have ever seen. The "Idaho Grape" is nice, but it can't compare to the Ultimate Purple Cap. As with all Montipora Caps it is a very fast grower. Try mounting it next to a frag of the Green Apple Cap, or Red Monti Cap to create a good contrast. They will grow in and around each other, but will not harm each other.
The Ultimate Purple Cap requires moderate water currents and intense lighting provided by metal halides, or high output flourescents such as T5's to maintain its color. It is important that proper calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium levels are maintained. Use of Kalkwasser Mix or a calcium reactor will be of great benefit.
Place the Ultimate Purple Cap on an exposed rock in the aquarium where currents will be able to supply it with necessary nutrients and trace elements.
Vivid Aquariums recommends feeding SPS corals with Oyster-Feast and/or Roti-Feast.
