Join our friendly community of reef aquarium hobbyists.

We've created the Vivid Aquariums Beginner's School to help the hands-on beginning hobbyist understand what it takes to set up and maintain a successful aquarium. The Beginner's School is written in a simple, straight-forward style. We recommend our Beginner's School as a starting point before beginning a saltwater aquarium to get a good base of information or as a reference guide. But it is by no means everything you ever need to know. This is why we recommend additional books.

It is important to read as much as possible, and talk to other experienced hobbyists. Setting up your saltwater aquarium correctly the first time will save a lot of time and money, and you will get more enjoyment from the hobby for years to come.

Patience is a virtue -- especially in this hobby!

Sincerely,

Dave and Your Vivid Aquariums Team
