All aquarium livestock are hand-picked, carefully screened for size and exceptional color, quality, and health by our experts.
Many other factors also affect the availability of marine livestock.
Supply & Demand: Certain species are easier
to find at certain times of the year, and may be nearly impossible
to locate during other times of the year. The breeding seasons
for many species are different. Many juvenile fish are available
shortly after the breeding season.
Weather: Tropical storms, typhoons, and general
bad weather can make the collection of marine livestock impossible
at times. Storms also reduce visibility underwater making it much
harder to catch fish.
War & Civil Uprisings: Certain species are
only found in certain regions around the world. Wars and civil
uprisings can disrupt or stop shipments.
Transportation: Many countries where marine
livestock come from are not major stops for most airlines, and
they only have a limited number of flights. If a flight has too
many passengers, or other cargo, shipments of marine livestock
may be rescheduled --sometimes not until several weeks later.
Bad weather may cause flights to be cancelled.
Religious Holidays: Collection and shipment
of marine livestock is often very limited during certain religious
holidays such as the month-long Muslim holiday of Ramadan. Christmas
also affects the shipments of livestock.
Reef Conservation/ Management: Governmental
agencies are setup around the world to control the amount of fish
and coral that are collected. This prevents over-collection and
helps to insure that we do not disrupt the ecosystem. Once the
limit of a certain species has been met for that year, no more
specimens may be collected. Species may also be restricted because
of other factors such as natural diseases that kill a large number
of a certain species.
New shipments arrive everyday at our facility; however, they
must be fully acclimated before they are available for sale. For
this reason we recommend that you take advantage of our Pre

find the specimen you are looking for if you give us the time.
