Nano FAQs

Do you sell the 24 gallon JBJ Nano Cube?
Yes. We sell them for pick-up only. We do not ship these.

Where do I get reverse-osmosis water?
You can buy RO water from your local fish store. Or you can purchase a reverse-osmosis system and make your own water. The last option is to purchase bottled water. We recommend Arrowhead.

How often should water be changed?
Water should be changed 10% every two weeks.

Do I need to add any buffers or supplements?
For a reef tank, you should add calcium, strontium, magnesium, iodine, and a dKh buffer. We recommend the Reef Starter Kit.

What can I do about excess algae?
Add a clean-up crew - one snail for every 1-2 gallons. You can also cut the lighting cycle by 15-30 minutes a day.

How long should I leave the lights on?
Light should not exceed more than 9 hours a day.

Do I need a skimmer?
No, if you do regular water changes, you do not need a skimmer.
