My recent order with Vivid was my first online purchase of
corals, so I was nervous about buying frags sight unseen.
After my experience with Vivid I am more than willing to buy
from them again in the future.
My shipment arrived when promised, but unfortunately my pink
lemonade acro frag had broken into two half inch pieces in
transit from shifting in the box. I immediately contacted
Vivid explaining the situation and sending a photo of the
pieces in the shipping bag. They responded that if the two
tiny remnants did not survive in my tank they would refund
the purchase price for that item.
I want to commend them on their level of customer service.
They did not hesitate to offer to refund the purchase price
of an item damaged in shipment, which is exactly what I
would hope for from a quality business. I just wanted to
share in case there are other first time online buyers
considering Vivid as a coral source. - Alan

must say everything looks nice after getting acclimated and
in the tank. The corals have nice polyp extension and the
zoa's are already open! The fish looks nice and healthy
also. Packaging was superb! Wanted to say thanks and will be

I bought a "NEXT REEF MR-1" Reactor a few months back.
I got a call a couple days later letting me know that they
were out of stock and they offered to refund my money or I
could wait.
I decided to wait they said they wouldnt get any till the
end of the week like Friday.
That following Thursday it arrived.
I was suprised I think the way they handled this transaction
was very professional and giving me the worse case senerio
was really smart seeing how I got it a day earlier made me
happy..
They even offered a comp on my next order.
Im very happy with thier customer service and would recomend
them to others as I will also being doing bussiness in the
future with them..
As for the NEXT REEF MR-1 Im very pleased awesome reactor

I'm a happy customer!
I recently placed an order for 5 fish and three corals. I
had some questions so I called the store and was helped by
very friendly, knowledgable staff. The day they were
shipping, I got a call that one of the fish I ordered didn't
look very well so they issued me a refund instead of sending
a questionable fish. The package arrived on time and was
expertly packed. The water was warm, the fish were alert,
and a few of the coral frags even had their polyps out.
Needless to say, customer service was great. The packaging
superb and the corals and fish were all very healthy.

Review of service
Let me begin by saying this was the first time I have ever
ordered fish online. There are a large number of store's
within and hour or less from my house. I decided I wanted
some larger, better looking fish. I purchased a large
Harlequin Tusk and a large Blue Hippo Tang. I was worried
about the shape the fish would be in once received. The
customer service was fantastic I changed my order and tried
to get a few different fish after I had placed my order.
Sean and his staff were fantastic. I am sure that I was not
the easiest customer, but everyone did whatever they could
to ensure I was happy with my order. The fish look great,
both are currently swimming around and eating in my tank as
I write. More importantly their colors are fantastic. I
cannot stress how impressed I have been with this whole
process. I never thought that I would order online... But
after this expiriance I would not hesitate to order again

from them and MORE than generous frags so you won't be

Vivid Aquariums
So being in charge of a couple of tanks that were set up as
"instructional improvements" at the U of Iowa, I decided to
set one up as more of a pacific wave base and one as a
Caribbean biotope. The live stock for the Caribbean biotope
has been going through sea life but the university has a
very funny policy on pay pal so it is currently caught up in
bureaucratic red tape. For the Pacific tank, I set out for a
predominantly SPS tank and decided to go through Vivid
aquariums for the corals and fish as they were considerably
cheaper than Live aquaria. So how was it? REALLY GOOD! All
of the corals came in above size listened on the site and
extremely healthy. The fish are all active, eating, and fat.
The shipping was done extremely well with the heat packs
taped to the lid of a styrofoam container and each specimen
was at least double bagged. They did forget one of the fish
on the order, but when I emailed them to say that it did not
come, but no longer wanted it, their immediate response was
"no problem, sorry about forgetting the fish, and your
credit card will be refunded the cost of the fish." No
questions asked. Great communication, very speedy, overall
very professional. I'd do business again with them in a
heart beat.
I'll write up my take on Sea Life when the red tape is
lifted. (This is more of knock on the university. I'm really
looking forward to seeing what Sea Life is all about!)

write to let you know all is well with the Panther
Grouper, M. Grouper, the Lion and the Puffer. They
have nearly doubled in size, are so healthy and I'm
very proud of all. I have them together with a Niger
Triger and Snowflake ell. I know my luck could
easily change, but all is going well. I installed a
protein skimmer a couple of months ago and that sure

...I have the pleasure of
being able to stop by Vivid Aquariums on my way home
from work and must say I am very impressed. The web
site is great, but the store is fantastic! There are
at least 3 other LFS in the area where I have
shopped; some bigger and one has been in business
for over 30 years. Vivid Aquariums store is very
bright, exceptionally clean, well stocked and has
knowledgeable and friendly personnel - and it
doesn't have that typical fish store odor. The other
thing that really has me impressed is that I haven't
seen any "dearly departed floaters" in any of his
tanks which seems to be typical of other LFS. I have
also observed David as he has received stock in as
well as when he prepares it for shipment. Watching
the care he uses as he does this has made me switch
to making Vivid Aquariums my number one choice for
my needs. They are always willing to chat, offer
suggestions and give advice without any pressure. It
is refreshing to have someone tell you NOT to buy
something because it wouldn't be a good fit for the
existing set-up.
I am gloating a bit cause I get to shop the store
instead of having to order from miles away. I just
thought I'd share what I have experienced
first-hand.

I received my second order of
fish from Vivid 4 weeks ago. Specimens meet or
exceed quality of LFS. Now after quarantine they are
doing great in my display tank.Thanks for your
honesty and great service. Dave contacted me that he
could not send a filefish as the one he had was ill.

following week another filefish was in stock.

Hi!
I just wanted to let you know I really appreciate
your beginners info. I have been trying to buy my
husband the essential equipment for an aquarium
piece by piece for the past two months (without him
knowing). He knows tons about aquariums but I know
nothing. I've been to every fish shop in Denver and
everyone looks at me as if I've missed the boat
because I'm not an expert.

Once again you have exceeded my wildest
expectations. The Declivis you found for me is an
awesome specimen. He arrived in great condition.
After about 2 hours of acclimation I quietly slipped
him into the tank and he didn't even darken colors.
He went middle of the tank cruising around as if he
lived there since birth. Only my Cleaner Wrasse paid
him any attention (Oh and talk about your myth's -
that Cleaner is more than 2 years in my tanks).
Take your time on the Pink Tail, they may in fact be
out of season, I cant recall. Its all good.

The skunks are beautiful. The larger one took a bit

Thought you would like to know
my order arrived yesterday 45 minutes earlier than
indicated on FedEx's tracking schedule! The fish
were beautiffuly packed as usual, and all five were
swimming in their bags. Four of them, the Clarkii
clowns, the six-line wrasse and the psuedochromis
are all over the tank exploring their new home. The
Carpenter's wrasse scuttled into a cave in the live
rock and has made only two brief appearances for
food. From what I have seen of him he's a beautiful
fish. The two Clarkii's haven't discovered the
bubble tip anemone as yet but the way they swim
around the tank they just might bump inti it!.

well and appear to be eating heartily. Of the whole
batch I am only a bit concerned about the larger of
the Copperband Butterfly. She seems to spend more
time in the corner more than she should. However I
have seen her attempt food on occasion. The Emperor
is quite friendly and even greets me when I walk in
the room. The Regal is a bit more shy but eats very
well and of a wide variety...My wife and I have
decided we are not buying anymore fish unless they
come from Vivid Aquariums.

Hello to the Vivid Aquarium Team!
I just wanted to let you all know how my new "crew"
is doing. First of all, the packaging was fantastic!
The individual bags for the fish were all upright
with a thermal pack on the top of the insulated
container and an amount of peanuts and newsprint to
keep everyone happy. The Green Chromis were just
flicking their tails to get into the tank! They
wanted an abbreviated acclimatization ... not going
to
happen! The female Swallow Tail Angel was just
loitering about the bag... wondering what was
going on. The Pajama Cardinals were just doing what
cardinals do best - feeling like nothing would
bother them! It took about 3.5 hrs to complete the
process. In two different tanks. The crew in the big
tank - cardinals and angel - were quick to feed
after the required lights out time. The cardinals
were just wondering what a clown is and why are they
in this neighborhood.
All in all... everyone seems to be quite happy. The
ordering was easy as was the receipt of the fish.
They arrived full of life and as advertised. Thanks
again to everyone who had a hand in my order.

A week ago Saturday I took delivery of my Queen Angel, Blueface Angel, and
Sohal Tang. They arrived in South Carolina in good shape. I used the drip
method with three different buckets, to acclimatize them and moved them into
the new home, a 90 gallon tank. The Blueface and Sohal began eating
immediately, while the queen took about a day to start. Now the queen and
shohal come immediately and the blueface waits until I leave the front of
the tank. The fish are doing great and I am very pleased! Thank you for your

I just wanted to send off a quick email regarding my
order #4558. I received everything this morning via
FedEx and everything looks great and is still in
acclimation right now. The care Vivid takes in
ensuring only quality specimens are shipped out
really shows in what I received. I did want to let
you know that the box was fairly wet when I received
it, although intact. The interior of the shipping
box was very wet and the box kind of disintegrated
in the process of me opening it. After opening up
the styrofoam container, I immediately saw the
culprit was the bag containing the flame angel,
which was deflated. The metal clip was intact and
there were no gross tears in any of the bags (I did
look) although water did make it out of the first
bag into the second and third layers. There was
plenty of water left in the primary bag where the
flame angel was, so I'm not overly concerned, but I
did want to let you know. All the other bags were
fine. I was especially impressed that all the
cleaner shrimp were in there own bags - something I
have not seen other vendors do.

corals from a number of online vendors & for the
most part,
have had positive experiences, with a few
exceptions. You however, are in a league
all your own. The white outer box, Vivid Aquariums
logo, solid styrofoam cooler,
taping the coral bags in place in the cooler, bubble
wrap, cool pack, special opaque
plastic bags ... down to the technique used with the
rubber bands to tie off the
bags separates you from the competition.
As far as the coral specimens, we could not be more
pleased! I have made several
attempts to obtain a Kenya Tree & could not be
happier with the specimen you made a
special trip to select. The sponge & Bali tree
gorgonian are also doing great!
Just wanted to let you know that your attention to
detail was very much appreciated.
